This Heat Treatment process can be carried out on metals (Carbon Steel, Alloy Steel, Tool Steel) and refractory materials (Castable & Mortar), where the aim of metal is to change its mechanical properties and microstructure so that an optimal product is obtained/according to the desired performance, while in refractories or known as non-metallic materials that are resistant to high temperatures the aim is to remove the remaining water content in the material so as to prevent cracking or peeling when exposed to high temperatures
